Joining in on what turned out to be the best building day weather-wise in quite awhile, was Troop 220, the Aboriginal Community constable group. Since their arrival fourteen weeks ago, this troop has been anxious to be on site and help, so Sunday was a fantastic experience for us to have their enthusiasm at work (seemed a lot like play to everyone), and also for them. I can personally say this group of young men was very impressive in their work, and outstanding in their attitude toward community service– and all of it showed, too.
Also joining us was Anna Curtis, daughter of Corp. Curtis Davis, fulfilling her long-time wish to be on a building site. She turned 16 three days earlier so it was her first time out, and it was “golden”. Welcome aboard, Anna.
Stay tuned for more Mountie House updates as we strive to have this home completed by early May, 2011.
