Mountie House Key Ceremony
Key Ceremony June 17, 2011
It was with great pleasure and honour that RCMP “Depot” Division and Habitat for Humanity proceeded with the key ceremony of Mountie House on Friday, June 17, in Regina.
Since its launch in 2009, Mountie House has collected over $180,000, thanks to the generous support of the Regina community and the project’s many partners. Located on Rae Street, in North Central Regina, the house will become the home of Giselle Hurlburt and her children, Jeremy and Adia.
Hope will soon be a reality!
On November , 2010 we officially turned the sod at Mountie House. On June 17, 2011 a family's dream will become reality. Join us in celebrating this emotional experience as we give the keys to a deserving family.

"It is an extremely emotional event for everyone involved. Volunteers get to see the completed home after all the hard work and hundreds of volunteer hours," says Cindy Covey, Volunteer Coordinator. "My personal favorite part is running into the home with the children and watching them pick out their own room. Its absolutely amazing to see the pride shine in their eyes."
Commissioner Elliott Builds on Mountie House
Commissioner William Elliott was in Regina on Sunday to help build on Mountie House. “Keep up the great work you are doing,” was his advice to Dennis Coutts of Habitat, and Roger Brown, Assistant Commissioner and Commanding Office of Depot Division. It’s great to see what you’re doing.” The houses looked like they were well built and, being a bit of a handyman himself, he picked up a few ideas just by watching the spray foam insulation while it was being installed by Ultimate Insulation.
